The Tamiḻ kings who "crushed the Aryans" performed the Vaidika sacrifice themselves; the poets who could name a Maurya, a Nanda and a Vaḍugar never made Āriyar one of those names; and the race the verses are said to remember first appears in the 1800s. There was never a race to fight.
