Svabhāva-Svadharma Framework: Āyurvedic Profile Assessment
Yes. Recordings will be available for three months after the course ends.
The program will have a maximum of three lectures per week (2 hours each = 6 hours). In addition, we recommend at least 2 hours during the week for self-study, reflection, and project work.
Total commitment: Minimum 8 hours per week.
Activism works best when combined with a clear understanding of political philosophy and discourse. We will provide the scaffolding you need, drawing from disciplines such as Political Philosophy, Social Psychology, and more, to help you articulate, strategize, and implement solutions for the issues you care deeply about.
Thought without action is futile, and action without thought is dangerous. This program introduces structure to thought while also providing tools and frameworks to articulate effectively. Practical examples from the policy world will help participants strategize and take action in their own communities.
We aim to:
Foster curiosity about the interplay between philosophy, history, economics, sociology, and politics.
Understand how today’s discourses are rooted in these interconnected disciplines.
Build awareness of the roots of state action, what governs them, and how they profoundly impact our lives.
Bring purpose and clarity to the field of public policy and governance, and our role in it.
Channel your curiosity and clarity into picking an issue of your choice to work on and network around.
Engage in a process of self-discovery by discussing our Svabhava and Svadharma (our purpose and the roles we can undertake).
Public policy examines what drives state action. The State has three broad choices:
Create
Regulate
Fund
An understanding of public policy deepens our grasp of these choices and expands them to include diverse knowledge systems. This enables the conscious creation of technology. What we need today are extensive reflections and dialogues on the value of our own knowledge systems.
None of us can claim to be absolute experts on Indian Knowledge Systems. What matters is the curiosity and commitment to learn. If you want to make sense of what drives state action and what is happening in our country, that concern and curiosity are the only prerequisites.
