Introduction to Permaculture

A workshop that ushers you to the regenerative world of Permaculture ethics and principles. Learn to live and work together with Mother Nature.

28 Sep - 29 Sep 2024 Completed

Overview

Permaculture is a holistic approach to designing sustainable human settlements and agricultural systems that mimic the patterns and relationships found in natural ecosystems. It provides a set of ethical principles and practical tools to create abundant, resilient, and harmonious living spaces—even in the heart of our cities.

There is a crisis of environmental degradation facing humanity, with growing pollution (of air, water, soil), deforestation, and an ever-increasing energy appetite. This has also led to a decrease in the quality of life. Permaculture provides a revolutionary template for sustainable living that can not only provide many valuable insights and principles for urban settings, but also help build resilient communities.

Intent

This workshop is tailored to equip learners with the ethics of permaculture (Earth Care, People Care, and Fair Share), going over the history of the movement and its successful global implementations. Additionally, it will aim to instill practical skills in the learner through a hands-on collaborative design activity, that will help develop a fresh perspective on regenerative future.

Who is this course for?

  • This workshop is perfect for: - Urban dwellers interested in sustainable living - Gardening enthusiasts looking to maximize small spaces - Community organizers and urban planners exploring pathways towards a harmonious future - Anyone looking to pursue a full-fledged Permaculture Design Certification (PDC) course in the near future.
